Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Sage AI — the sage-ai-cli command line tool, the Sage web app, the Sage iOS and Android apps, the SMS bridge, and related services (together, "Sage"). By installing the CLI, creating an account, or using any part of Sage, you agree to these terms. If you use Sage on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.

Sage is metered by output tokens — the tokens a model generates in response to you. Input tokens are not billed against your allowance. The current plans are:

If you exceed your plan's allowance, additional usage is billed at the published per-1,000,000-output-token overage rate for your plan. Your live consumption is visible on the Usage page, so you can see where you stand before an overage happens. Paid plans renew automatically each month until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply to you.

Sage accepts PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payment credentials are handled entirely by those providers — Sage never stores your card or bank details. If a charge fails we may retry it, and we may suspend paid features until payment succeeds.

You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Cancellation stops future renewals; your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, after which your account reverts to Free. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

Sage gives you access to more than 200 open-weight models — including families such as Llama, Gemma, Qwen, Mistral, Phi, DeepSeek-Coder, and Devstral — either as local GGUF weights on your own machine or through Sage's cloud routing. Each model carries its own license from its publisher. You are responsible for complying with the license of any model you download or run, including restrictions on commercial use or redistribution. Sage grants you no rights beyond those licenses.

Your use of Sage is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: do not use Sage to break the law, to attack systems you do not own, to build malware, or to harm other people. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate that policy.

Sage is an agentic coding tool. It reads files, writes files, and — when you approve it — executes shell commands on your computer. You are responsible for reviewing what it proposes before you accept it. Use version control, keep backups, and do not run Sage with privileges it does not need. The /undo command reverses Sage's most recent file changes, but it is not a substitute for source control.

Language models can be wrong. Sage's output may contain factual errors, insecure code, or suggestions that do not work, and the same prompt can produce different results on different runs. You must review and test anything you ship. Sage is not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

We work to keep Sage's cloud services available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, change or retire features, or adjust rate limits. Local models keep working on your machine regardless of the state of our cloud — that is a deliberate design goal, not an accident.

Sage is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sage is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

You may stop using Sage and delete your account at any time from the Account page; deletion is immediate and permanent. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, that fails to pay, or that we are legally required to disable. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — do so.

We may update these terms as Sage changes. Material changes will appear on this page with a new revision date below. Continuing to use Sage after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, cancel your plan and stop using the service.
