Refund Policy

A free plan to evaluate on, 14 days to change your mind on your first paid month, and a short list of situations where we refund regardless of timing.

Try it before you pay

The Free plan costs $0 and never expires. It gives you browser-only AI with 7 in-browser models, so you can see how Sage behaves before any money changes hands. We would rather you spend a week on Free and upgrade deliberately than pay for a month and ask for it back.

The 14-day window on your first paid month

If you upgrade to Starter, Pro, or Premium and it is not what you expected, email support@sageworksai.com within 14 days of that first charge and we will refund it in full. You do not need to justify the request. This applies to the first paid period on a given account — it is a trial safety net, not a recurring monthly option.

Renewals

Monthly renewals after that first period are generally not refundable, because the output tokens for the period are provisioned to you at the start of it. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page; cancelling stops the next charge and leaves your current period intact until it ends, at which point the account reverts to Free. Nothing is lost by cancelling early — you keep what you already paid for.

When we refund outside the window

Policies exist so that the normal case is predictable, not so that we can be unreasonable. We will issue a refund or a credit, at your option, in these situations:
Duplicate charge — you were billed twice for the same period.
Charge after cancellation — you cancelled and were billed anyway.
Billing error on our side — you were charged the wrong plan's price, or your usage was metered incorrectly.
Extended outage — a Sage cloud failure prevented you from using the plan you paid for over a meaningful portion of the period.
Unauthorized charge — someone billed your payment method without your permission. Contact us before filing a chargeback; we will act on it faster.

What is not refundable

Output tokens you have already consumed, and overage charges for tokens beyond your plan's allowance.
A period you simply did not use. Unused allowance does not carry over and is not refunded.
Accounts terminated for violating the Acceptable Use Policy.
Dissatisfaction with a specific model's output quality. Model behaviour varies; use the Free plan and the model picker to evaluate before committing.

Overage charges

Overages are billed by output tokens beyond your plan's allowance, at the published per-1,000,000-token rate. Your consumption is visible in real time on the Usage page, so an overage should never be a surprise. If you believe you were metered incorrectly, tell us the approximate dates and what you were running — we can check the counters and correct them.

How to request a refund

Email support@sageworksai.com from the address on your Sage account. Include the plan you are on and the approximate date of the charge, and tell us briefly what went wrong. We aim to respond within two business days.

How refunds are returned

Refunds go back to the original payment method — PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Once we approve a refund it is issued promptly on our side; how quickly it appears on your statement depends on that provider and your bank, and is typically a few business days. Sage does not store your card details, so we cannot refund to a different method than the one that was charged.

Downgrades

Moving to a cheaper plan takes effect at the start of your next billing period rather than immediately, so you keep the allowance you already paid for. We do not prorate the difference as a refund; you simply keep the higher tier until the period ends.

Questions

If your situation does not fit any of the above, write to support@sageworksai.com anyway and explain it. A policy cannot anticipate everything, and we would rather sort out an edge case directly than have you fight your bank over it.
